WHEAT CROPS SHOW HIGH GROWTH POTENTIAL IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL

The wheat crop has shown excellent growth conditions in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, with high yield potential, and low incidence of diseases. According to the Economic Newsletter released on Thursday (6) by Emater/RS-Ascar, crops in grain formation represent 46% of the cultivated area with excellent quality, large ears, and good grain. The productivity is expected to increase, depending now on the ratio of the mass of water held in the soil. Crops in maturation reached 19%, and 3% have already been harvested. The wheat cultivation area is forecast at 1,413,763 hectares. The productivity is likely to remain at 2,822 kg/ha.
