WHEAT CROP COULD BE THE SECOND LARGEST IN HISTORY

According to Emater, Rio Grande do Sul could produce the second-largest wheat crop in recorded history. The expected production of wheat, white oats, barley, and canola is 5,625,889 tons, which is 12.81% less than the previous harvest, regarded as the highest in the State’s history, with 6,452,337 tons. On a planting area of 1,505,704 hectares (down 1.5% from the previous year), wheat is expected to produce an average yield of 3,021 kg/ha, a 12.6% drop from the previous one (3,459 kg/ha).
