VLI’S TIPLAM TERMINAL RECORDS 11% SURGE IN GRAIN, SUGAR EXPORTS LAST YEAR

The Brazil-based logistics terminals and railways operator, VLI, reported an 11% increase compared to the previous year in the export volume of grains, soymeal, and sugar through the Tiplam terminal in the Santos Port Complex in 2022. According to VLI, total exports of agribusiness products, including soybeans and corn, reached 8.1 million tonnes, up from 7.3 million tonnes in 2021. VLI, whose main shareholder is mining company Vale, attributed these numbers to the increased flow of grains to Santos via the Centro-Atlântica Railway (FCA), which VLI operates. Additionally, significant sugar production in the country contributed to the increased volumes.
