VLI REGISTERS RECORD TRAFFIC ON THE SOUTHEAST CORRIDOR IN MAY.

VLI posted a record monthly throughput in its Southeast Corridor in May, transporting 1.14 billion TKU (ton-kilometers), the highest volume ever recorded on the rail network linking Brazil’s Midwest to the Port of Santos region via the FCA railway. The corridor handles export and import flows of soybeans, corn, soybean meal, sugar and fertilizers through the Luiz Antonio Mesquita Integrated Port Terminal (Tiplam) and inland terminals in Uberaba and Guará. Recent investments supported capacity gains. VLI completed a R$38 million, 2 km rail expansion at Tiplam, increasing fertilizer rail handling capacity by up to 30%. In 2025, the company also concluded a nearly R$35 million dredging and berth upgrade project, raising maximum draft at berths 2, 3 and 4 and the Piaçaguera channel from 13.35 m to 14.10 m, increasing vessel cargo capacity by about 10%.
