VALE UNDERGOES MODERNIZATION IN THE PORT OF TUBARÃO

In search of more competitive and environmental efficiency, the Port of Tubarão, in Vitória, is currently being modernized and becoming more technological. By 2025, Vale expects to invest R$ 2.4 billion in the port area alone and R$ 1.6 billion in company’s business, generating a substantial number of jobs, 1,500 in each year of construction work. According to the global mining company, 197 projects will be implemented in the coming years, more than half of them in ore transport and water management. According to Vale’s representative, at least a quarter of these works are underway. The company will invest R$ 4 billion in the Tubarão Complex as a whole, 60% of which will be in the port area; 23% will be in pelletizing, 17% in interventions to preserve the environment, and 1% in the Vitória-Minas Railway. Besides fresh ore and pellets, Vale also handles cargo of fertilizers, corn, soybeans and fuels in the port complex.
