THE BNDES INVESTS IN ETHANOL/BRAN FACILITY IN BRAZIL

The BNDES has approved financing of BRL 729.7 million for Be8, a leading biodiesel company in Brazil. The funds will be used to construct an ethanol and bran plant in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul. A total of BRL 500 million will be invested to improve corn and wheat processing. The facility is expected to generate 209 million liters of bran and ethanol annually. This would encourage sustainability and innovation in the energy industry while assisting Rio Grande do Sul in reducing its ethanol imports. The initiative will prioritize green technology, generate power from biomass without creating any liquid effluents, and create jobs locally.
