SUGAR PRODUCTION HAS INCREASED BY 19.79% TO DATE

In the second half of July, sugar production totaled 3.68 million tons. When compared to the 3.31 million tons harvested in 2022/23, this number shows an 11.29% increase. Since April 1, the total sugar production has amounted to 19.17 million tons, up from 16 million tons in the previous cycle. For two consecutive weeks, over 50% of ATR processed was used for sugar production. According to Unica (Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry Union), sugarcane production per ton was more than 2 kg higher than in the first half of July due to increased sucrose concentrations and subsequent increases in industrial extraction. The Center-South units produced 2.46 billion liters of ethanol in the second half of July.
