SUGAR MILLS IN BRAZIL’S NORTH-NORTHEAST TO EXPORT 147.54 THOUSAND TONS OF SUGAR TO THE US IN 2022/23

After two extra sugar export quotas from Brazil to the United States in the 2021/22 season, mills from Brazil’s North and Northeast regions can now get ready to ship the sweetener next season. The ordinance with the first apportionment for 2022/23 was published in the Official Gazette (DOU) on Thursday, 01. The document provides the volume to be shipped starting from October 2022. About 36 mills will benefit from the preferential quota for sugar exports to the North American country, totaling 147,540 tons so far. The division of volume is a way to bring more consistency to producers in the North-Northeast region. The apportionment follows rules already established by the ministry.
