SUGAR EXPORTS BY BRAZIL SURPASSED 3.8 MILLION TONS IN AUGUST

According to Brazil’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), the country exported 3.818 million tons of sugar and molasses in August, generating a total revenue of over 1.85 billion dollars in 23 business days. Brazil shipped 2.975 million tons of sugar-energy products last month, as the 2023/24 harvest progressed. In August 2022, sugar and molasses exports reached 2.957 million tons, earning total profits of US$ 1.20 billion in 23 business days. During the period, sugar and molasses exports averaged 166,022 thousand tons per day, which is a 29% increase from the same period in 2022 (128,581 thousand tons per day).
