SUAPE LAUNCHES NEW CONTAINER TERMINAL WITH AN INITIAL INVESTMENT OF R$ 1.6 BILLION AND PROMISES TO DOUBLE PORT CAPACITY

The Port of Suape, in Pernambuco, will receive a new container terminal that is expected to significantly increase its capacity and create over 1,700 jobs. Authorization for the terminal’s construction, with an initial investment of R$1.6 billion, was signed by the Minister of Ports and Airports, the Governor of Pernambuco, and the President of APM Terminals, a subsidiary of A.P. Moller-Maersk. The construction, scheduled to take place between 2024 and 2026, is expected to create a thousand jobs, and once operational, the terminal will generate 1,700 job positions. The initiative is seen as a significant boost to the region’s economic development and an increase in the port’s cargo transportation capacity.
