SUAPE LAUNCHES BIDDING NOTICE FOR THE INTERNAL CHANNEL

The government of Pernambuco and the federal government will launch the bidding notice for the internal navigation channel of the Port of Suape on December 22, aiding several companies present at the complex, such as Tecon Suape, APM Terminals (under development), and various other operators using public berths. The intervention complements the dredging of the external channel, which directly benefits oil and liquid bulk operations. The completion of the outer channel dredging, which began on December 1, was the first step for Suape to receive large vessels. The process will increase the channel depth to 20 meters and draft to 17.3 meters, enough to accommodate Suezmax-type oil tankers requiring 16.1 meters of draft. In the internal dock, after dredging services, the draft will increase to 16.2 meters, enough to receive vessels with a capacity exceeding 14,000 TEUs.
