STONEX SEES NEW RECORDS FOR CANE CRUSHING AND SUGAR OUTPUT IN 2024/25

According to StoneX, sugarcane crushing and sugar output in Brazil’s Center-South are expected to reach new records in the upcoming 2024/25 season. The harvested area is expected to increase by 6%, and more raw material will be allocated to produce sugar. Crushing in the Center-South is estimated to be 629.3 million tons, indicating an annual increase of 0.9%. These new records are expected to surpass the current harvest, which has been revised upwards to 623.6 million tons. Despite an anticipated reduction in the average productivity of sugarcane fields, after reaching historic levels of 92.8 tons per hectare in the 2023/24 cycle until August, these volumes are still projected to be met.
