STONEX RAISES BRAZIL’S CORN FORECAST AND SEES GREAT MOMENTUM FOR EXPORTS

The 2022/23 corn crop in Brazil is expected to be above preliminary expectations and is estimated at a record, said StoneX on Thursday, citing slight adjustments in the planted area in comparison with November. Corn production was projected at 130.3 million tons when compared to the previous forecast of 129.9 million. StoneX also increased the national area of the winter corn crop to 17.94 million hectares. The entity raised the corn export projection in 2021/22 from 42 million to 45 million tons, amid the start of sales to China. In 2022/23, corn shipments are expected to reach 46 million tons
