SOYBEAN HARVEST REACHES 23% IN BRAZIL

As of Thursday (02/08), the soybean harvest in Brazil has reached 23%, up 7 percentage points from the previous week and surpassing 17% of the same period last year. This is the second-highest rate of the season, after just the 2018-19 crop (26%). With a large portion of the area already harvested in Mato Grosso and favorable expectations in Matopiba, the focus shifts to Brazil’s south region. Paraná, losses have already occurred owing to hot and dry weather, while growers in Rio Grande do Sul are hoping for rains to ensure a decent harvest.
