SOYBEAN CHAIN SAW A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN GDP IN 2023

According to research conducted in collaboration with Abiove, Cepea (Esalq/USP) has reported that the record soybean harvest in the 2022-2023 crop cycle has led to a surge of 21% in the GDP of the soybean and biodiesel chain, resulting in a total of BRL 635.9 billion in 2023. However, despite the increase in volume, prices of the soybean chain have decreased by 21.79% due to an increase in global stockpiles and supply expansion. Consequently, the chain’s revenue has fallen by 5.34%.
