SOYBEAN ACREAGE PROJECTED AT RECORD 40 MILLION HECTARES

Rabobank has projected a planted area of 40 million hectares in Brazil. Despite the increase in production costs, positive profit margins are expected for Brazilian soybean producers in the 2021/22 season. “Assuming the trend line for productivity, the Brazilian crop is expected to reach 142 million tons during the 2021/22 season,” said Rabobank, pointing out that the fall in Brazilian exports in the year – 72.7 million tons (January-August), and the maintenance of crushing indicate recovery of the soybean stocks for the end of December 2021. “The reduction of the Brazilian corn crop by more than 20 million tons may have a positive impact on soybean exports in the last quarter of 2021, when the ports must be idle,” the bank explained.
