São Paulo’s government signed a decree that benefits hydrous ethanol producers and distributors with ICMS credit. The measure was published in the Official State Gazette on Tuesday (27) and is valid for internal operations. The credit will be granted in the period from August 1st to December 31st of this year. According to the Department of Finance and Planning (Sefaz-SP), the estimate aims to relieve the ethanol sector by R$ 1.9 billion by the end of 2022, allowing the bioenergy industry to remain competitive in relation to other fuels.
