SÃO PAULO’S 2022/23 GRAIN CROP TO GROW 5.53%

São Paulo’s 2022/2023 grain harvest, which started in September this year, is expected to increase by 5.53% over the previous cycle, according to the October report from the Economic Department of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock (FAESP), based on a survey carried out by Brazil’s Supply Company (Conab). The projection is for a 2.5% growth in the planted area, estimated at 2.54 million hectares, and a 3% productivity increase, currently estimated at 4,062 kg/ha. This is Conab’s first survey for the 2022/23 season. The off-season corn stands out, with production growth estimated at 18.6%.
