SANTOS BRASIL EXPANDS CAPACITY TO OPERATE GENERAL CARGO IN IMBITUBA

With the addition of a 7,500 square meter canvas warehouse at Tecon, Santos Brasil increased its capacity to handle general cargo at the Port of Imbituba in Santa Catarina, bringing the total covered space at the Terminal of General Cargo (TCG) from 8,550 square meters to 16,050 meters. The new facility, which has been in use since the beginning of January, presently has 9,000 tons of big bags of fertilizers stored there. It is also designed for the storage of steel and cellulose materials, among others, and provides protection from environmental issues, such as rain, and humidity. The Port of Imbituba reached a new operating level in 2022, handling 7.1 million tons, the best year result in its history. There was a 3.6% increase in comparison to 2021.
