SAFRAS & MERCADO RAISES ESTIMATE FOR CORN PRODUCTION IN BRAZIL

This Friday, 12th, Safras & Mercado raised its expectations for the Brazilian corn harvest for the 2023/24 season. In a report, the consultancy stated that it now sees the country’s total corn production at 126.13 million tons, compared to 125.86 million in the previous estimate. According to Safras & Mercado consultant, Paulo Molinari, the upward adjustment in the numbers, even with the maintenance of the summer harvest estimate and the cut in the off-season projection, takes into account the improvement in the production estimate in the North and Northeast regions. The volume, however, will fall short of the 140 million tons harvested in the 2022/23 season, according to consultancy figures.
