ROAD FREIGHT VOLUME IN AGRIBUSINESS INCREASES BY 21.4% IN THE LAST QUARTER OF 2023, REVEALS FRETE. COM

The volume of road freight in agribusiness in Brazil increased by 21.4% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, according to Frete.com. Soybeans, corn, and fertilizers led the increase, with growth rates of 132%, 21.7%, and 22.2%, respectively. These numbers reflected predictions of a record harvest, with Conab estimates indicating an 18% increase in grain production in 2023. Highlights include the significant increase in soybean freight in Paraná (414%) and corn in Mato Grosso (78%). Overall, road freight in the country increased by 17%, totaling over 2.8 million freight postings on the Frete.com platform in the last quarter of 2023.
