RICE: EXPORTS GROWTH REACH RECORD LEVELS IN AUGUST

Brazil’s paddy rice shipments reached a record in August, considering the entire historical series of Secex, which began in 1997. According to Cepea, the records are driven by real’s performance against the US dollar, which favors the parity of national rice with imported rice. According to Secex data, total paddy rice shipments increased by 29.4% between July and August 2022, totaling 267.98 thousand tons in the last month, the fifth largest historical volume. As for the domestic market, the paddy rice indicator CEPEA/IRGA-RS has been around R$ 75/50 kg bag since mid-August.
