RECORD CARGO THROUGHPUT AT PORT OF SANTOS IN FEBRUARY

Cargo throughput at the Port of Santos surged in February, up by 30.4% year-on-year, hitting a record 14.3 million tonnes. Export volumes drove this growth, rising by 35.2%, particularly in agribusiness goods like sugar and soybeans. Imports also increased by 17.4%. Container operations and ship traffic saw significant upticks. Solid bulk and liquid bulk cargo operations also recorded substantial increases. The port’s share in Brazilian trade rose to 28.7%, with China remaining a key partner. Overall, Santos maintained its pivotal role in Brazil’s trade, with robust performance across various sectors.
