In 2022, the GDP of the production chain for soybeans and biodiesel was BRL 673.7 billion, or close to 27% of the total national GDP for the agriculture sector. This participation was only 9% twelve years ago. The chain’s GDP increased by 58% between 2010 and 2022, while agribusiness expanded by 8% and the economy by 12%. This shows that soy and biodiesel are making more products available to the general public. The soy complex has seen an increase in foreign sales over the past ten years. Revenue increased to a new high in 2022 (USD 61.3 billion), accounting for 38% of agricultural exports. More than half of exports, or 52.61 percent of the amount, are going to China.
