PORTS OF PORTO ALEGRE SEE THE BEST TWO-MONTH PERIOD IN HISTORY

The Portos RS unit in Porto Alegre achieved record-breaking output in February, handling a total of 107,274 tons. This increase also resulted in the best first two months on record, with a total of 175,227 tons in the first two months of 2024 – an impressive growth of 81.02% compared to the same period in 2022. During the first 60 days of 2024, 43 vessels, including inland navigation barges and long-haul ships, passed through the Porto Alegre commercial pier. Wheat cargoes were the most handled, with a total of 89,811 tons, followed by fertilizers (45,996 tons), beef tallow (20,879 tons), barley (17,291 tons), and general cargo (1,250 tons). Most shipments made at the Port of Porto Alegre were destined for the United States (21,559 tons); 570 tons went to the domestic market.
