PORTS IN THE AMAZON REGION SHIPPED MORE THAN 51 MILLION TONS OF GRAIN IN 2023

According to AMPORT, ports in the Amazon region shipped more than 51 million tons of grain in 2023, up about 22% over the previous year. This accounts for 37% of the total agricultural bulk shipped from Brazilian ports. The association’s president, Flávio Acatauassú, stated that despite climate problems, the expansion met the expected target. Continued investments in port activities are deemed necessary, with initiatives underway to increase exporting capacity. Barcarena, in Pará, is a major port center in the region due to its extensive infrastructure and strategic position. AMPORT, which consists of 13 enterprises, helps to enhance Northern Arc’s logistical chain and infrastructure.
