PORTO MURTINHO: BRAZIL’S NEW ENTRYWAY OF FERTILIZERS

The first ever shipment of imported fertilizers has recently arrived at the port terminal in Porto Murtinho, operated by the FV Cereais Group. The barges carrying the product arrived on September 29 from Uruguay, confirmed Genivaldo dos Santos, operations manager at the port terminal. The operation consists of three thousand tonnes divided into three barges in total. The compost was prepared in Uruguay with material brought from abroad. According to the manager, this is the first-ever fertilizer import operation conducted through FV Cereais Port Terminal. Last year, 245,000 tonnes of soybeans were shipped.
