PORT SECTOR HITS A RECORD FOR FUEL HANDLING IN OCTOBER

The most fuel and mineral oil handling this year occurred in the month of October. DATaPort conducted a survey of the ATP (Association of Private Port Terminals) port sector database, which revealed that 27.9 million tons were handled, an increase of 4.2 percent compared to the same period last year. With 81.7% of the handling of this type of cargo, the Private Use Terminals (TUPs) were crucial. The public and private ports provided their best historical results handling respectively 5,4 and 22 million tons in October. The Angra dos Reis Waterway Terminal (Transpetro) grew by 57.3 percent and handled 6.2 million tons. It is one of the private terminals that experienced the highest growth during the period.
