PORT OF SUAPE TO RESTART DREDGING WITH BRL 480 MILLION INVESTED

The government of the state of Pernambuco announced last Friday (Nov 4) that the dredging of the Port of Suape will be restarted. The intervention, paralyzed since 2013, will have an investment of R$ 480 million, of which R$ 340 million will be used to pay off debts, plus R$ 140 million to complete the work. Dredging should begin this November. The work, expected to take 4 to 5 months to be completed, will be carried out using a dredger to remove sediments and rocks, allowing the port to be leveled at a depth of 20 meters. Despite the contract’s suspension, 85% of the dredging work has already been completed.
