PORT OF SUAPE AND PANAMA MARITIME AUTHORITY SIGN COOPERATION AGREEMENT

The Suape Port Industrial Complex and the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP) signed a technical cooperation agreement to share innovative and successful experiences in port operations and develop socio-environmental measures that promote environmentally-aware economic growth. The agreement results from a visit to the AMP in Panama City paid in August 2022 by the director-president of the state-owned company, Francisco Martins (at the time, director of Planning and Management at Suape). The term of cooperation was signed last December 30th. The technical cooperation agreement will also raise economic development by increasing operational efficiency indicators and improving environmental and social management practices in line with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The cooperation agreement also aims to create connections with international partners and promote the feasibility of new trade routes.
