PORT OF RIO GRANDE SEES BEST FIRST QUARTER IN ITS HISTORY

Out of the 935 vessels at the Port of Rio Grande do Sul over the past 90 days, 772 were at the Port of Rio Grande and at the Superport terminals, accounting for 82.57% of the total. The city of Pelotas, where 130 barges have passed, is in second place, and Porto Alegre is in third with 33 ships. The Port of Rio Grande handled 17,680 tons more during the first quarter than at the same time last year, totaling 8,995,711 tons. Dry bulk has the highest volume (5,266,028 tons). At 2,774,662 tons, general cargo comes in second, followed by liquid bulk in third with 955,021 tons—the most first quarter in history.
