PORT OF ITAQUI TO SEE ALUMINUM EXPORTS ONCE AGAIN

The Port of Itaqui, located in the state of Maranhão, announced the resurgence of aluminum exports, strengthening its position as a logistics hub. Announced approximately a month ago, the first load of ingots will be at berth 99. The partnership between the Port of Itaqui, G5 Logística, Steinweg, and the Australian mining company South32 stands out for its competitive standing and positive impacts on the aluminum production chain throughout the region. The last export of aluminum ingots through the Port of Itaqui took place in 2013. However, the longstanding partnership between the public port and Alumar dates back to previous years. Between 2001 and 2013, the company exported 2.1 million tons of cargo through the Port of Itaqui.
