PORT OF IMBITUBA HAS HISTORIC THROUGHPUT RECORD IN MAY 2022

May was a groundbreaking month for the Port of Imbituba, as it achieved a record volume in the Port Complex, with an impressive throughput of 700,000 tonnes. This monthly record represents a significant 16.2% growth compared to last year. The previous milestone was set in May 2021, with approximately 682,000 tonnes transported. A total of 23 ships were serviced in May, with a predominant focus on export products. This export flow experienced remarkable growth of 30.3% compared to May 2022. The cargo transported for international shipping accounted for 48.5% of the total, while imports represented 39.2%, and cabotage contributed 12.3%. Some of the most transported cargoes are petroleum coke, meal (soybean and corn), containers, salt, and corn.
