PORT OF ANTONINA SUCCESSFULLY MAKES FIRST SHIPMENT OF SUGAR IN BULK

The port of Antonina, located in Paraná, successfully conducted an experiment on shipping bulk sugar as an export last Monday, the 14th. The operation included 16 thousand tonnes of raw sugar from the state of São Paulo, destined for Venezuela. During the loading process onto the ship, the productivity reached an impressive rate of 457 tons per hour, equating to approximately 11 thousand tons per day. Gilberto Birkhan, President of Porto Ponta do Félix, stated that the operation surpassed the established productivity targets. In addition, the management highlights one of the principal advantages of utilizing Porto Ponta do Félix in Antonina, which is the streamlined operational time. Birkhan underscores, “Unlike other ports burdened with lengthy queues, averaging 15 days, and lacking additional space for the stipulated export volume, there are no mooring delays.”
