The Itajaí and Navegantes Port Complex registered 126,306 TEUs in May, handling about 1,385,808 tons of cargo in containers. The port complex registered 78 berths in the month. At Portonave (Porto de Navegantes), the movement registered 48 stopovers, with 96,934 TEUs, and 1,050,671 tons of cargo. At the Port of Itajaí, 29,372 TEUs were handled with 335,137 tons of cargo in containers. Cargo movement totaled 1,489,301 tons, considering exports and imports with full or empty containers. In the period from January to May, the Port of Itajaí received the third vessel with a cellulose shipment. The next vessel of this type is scheduled to arrive in the next few days. The first cellulose operation at the Port of Itajaí took place in August 2019.
