PETROBRAS TESTS MARINE FUEL WITH 24% BIODIESEL BLEND

Petrobras began testing bunker, marine fuel, with 24% biodiesel in the composition for ships positioned at Transpetro’s Rio Grande (RS) Terminal. Considering the life cycle of the product, the estimated percentage reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is around 17% by volume, compared to the 100% mineral bunker. This is the second test, following a successful pilot with a 10% blend. In addition to the increased blend, the company has added beef tallow (animal fat) as a renewable raw material, comprising 30% of the mixture.
