PETROBRAS PLANS TO RESUME FERTILIZER OPERATIONS

Petrobras plans to resume nitrogen fertilizer production at the Ansa facility in Paraná in the second half of 2024 and to complete the work of another unit in Três Lagoas (MS) in 2028. The Ansa unit has been inactive since 2019, and the resumption requires maintenance investments. Petrobras is seeking a partnership in China to complete the Três Lagoas facility. The state-owned company is looking for ways to recoup the profits from the nitrogen fertilizer facilities leased to Unigel in Bahia and Sergipe. The resumption is aimed at meeting Brazil’s needs while also exploring the potential of the energy transition.
