PETROBRAS BEGINS WIND MEASUREMENTS IN PRE-SALT REGION

Petrobras, Shell Brasil, TotalEnergies, CNPC, CNOOC, and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul have joined forces to collect wind measurements in the pre-salt Búzios Field. The project, called Ventos de Libra, aims to develop technologies and methodologies that will evaluate the technical feasibility of installing offshore wind farms in the Brazilian pre-salt region. Petrobras is leading the research, which has a BRL 8 million investment and is being conducted in partnership with other firms. A wind measurement station will be set up on the P-75 platform ship, which will collect data over 3 years. This data will be crucial for future wind energy projects in the region and will contribute to the decarbonization of activities.
