PORT AUTHORITY PREPARES PRELIMINARY PROJECT TO DEEPEN ACCESS CHANNEL OF PORT OF SANTOS

The Port Authority of Santos (APS) is developing a preliminary project to deepen the access channel of the Port of Santos from 15 to 16 meters, with the possibility of reaching 17 meters. This infrastructure project, essential for enhancing the port’s competitiveness, has an estimated budget of R$ 324.1 million. APS is examining a new contract model aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring economic and financial balance for the contracted company. The publication of the tender for deepening the channel to 16 meters is scheduled for December 2025, with construction commencing in June 2026. Expanding to 17 meters in the second phase is more complex due to distinct documentary, environmental, and technical requirements.
