PARANAGUÁ PORT RECEIVES ITS LARGEST CRANE FOR UNLOADING SOLID BULK IMPORTS

At berth 211 of the Port of Paranaguá, the ship Maria docked, loaded with three large cranes used in port operations. One of the pieces of equipment was unloaded at the terminal in Paraná and will reinforce the operation of unloading solid bulk imports, mainly fertilizers. According to the company that acquired the equipment, Harbor, a port operator in the Port of Paranaguá, the crane is the only one of its kind, so far, in Paraná and one of the largest in terms of capacity and productivity for unloading bulk in Brazil. As explained by Harbor Operations manager, Douglas Soares Pires, the crane purchased is state-of-the-art equipment. “It has a capacity for 154 tons, at each movement, and a reach of 54 meters, providing greater productivity and service for large Panamax, Post-Panamax and Capesize vessels”, he comments.
