PARANÁ, THE SECOND LARGEST SOYBEAN PRODUCER, SERVES 14% OF THE BRAZILIAN CROP

With an expected 20.7 million tons for the current harvest, Paraná is the Brazil’s second largest soybean producer. This accounts for 14% of national production, which accounts for nearly 40% of total global oilseed production. The world is expected to produce 383 million tons of soybeans during the current harvest. Brazil is expected to contribute 152.8 million tons. Production in Paraná has already begun, with a total capacity of 20.7 million tons. There was a breakthrough at work this week. It is estimated that around 7% of the 5.7 million hectares area has already been harvested, which equates to 287 thousand hectares.
