PARANA EXPECTED TO HARVEST THE LARGEST SOYBEAN CROP IN ITS HISTORY, SAYS DERAL

The Department of Rural Economics (Deral) of the Secretary of Agriculture and Supplies released its monthly report on Thursday (30), which reinforces the prediction that soybean production will reach a record level in the 2022–2023 season. The 5.76 million hectares in Paraná are expected to yield 22.18 million tons of soy, according to technicians. The favorable weather had a major role in the strong performance. Since this harvest is expected to yield more soybeans than ever before, Paraná’s contribution to the nation’s soybean production will increase and represent around 15% of the total. In previous harvests, this percentage ranged between 12% and 14%.
