OVER 51 MILLION TONS OF GRAIN EXPORTED THROUGH AMAZONIAN PORTS IN 2023

Grain exports from Amazon ports increased to more than 51 million tons in 2023, up nearly 22% from 2022. According to data from the Amazon Basin Association of Port Terminals and Cargo Transshipment Stations (AMPORT), this region accounted for 37% of total agricultural bulk exported by Brazilian ports in long-haul operations, despite climatic challenges such as the North Region’s super-drought. The president of AMPORT emphasizes the region’s great potential and investments in port expansion to meet the rising demand smartly and sustainably.
