OIL PRODUCTION IN PRE-SALT LAYER SETS A NEW QUARTERLY RECORD

Petrobras set a new quarterly production record in the pre-salt basin from April to June, reaching 2,06 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. This represents 78% of the company’s total output and surpasses the previous record of 2,05 million barrels of oil per day set in the first quarter of 2023. According to Carlos Travassos, Petrobras’s Director of Engineering, Technology, and Innovation, the installation of the fluctuating units Anna Nery and Anita Garibaldi ensures the operational continuity of the Marlim and Voador fields. The company expects a 20% increase in production and a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2018, when nine units were in operation in Marlim.
