NEW PORTO POTENGI PROMISES BOOST IN COMPETITIVENESS FOR EXPORTERS

Amid concerns about economic competitiveness loss, Roberto Serquiz, president of the Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Norte, emphasizes the urgent need for an efficient port terminal. Two projects for new ports are under discussion, including Porto Potengi in Natal, whose feasibility has been approved by the National Confederation of Transport. The export sector, represented by the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Exporters, views the possibility of infrastructure improvement with enthusiasm. However, challenges such as defenses, dredging, and access are worrisome, while a hydrographic study for dredging works is expected by November 15.
