NEW INDUSTRIAL UNIT WILL PROVIDE 266 MILLION LITERS OF ETHANOL

The municipality of Maracaju-MS is now home to the latest ethanol, bran, and corn oil industries. It began operations on Monday, January 1st, 2024, and can offer the market 266 million liters of ethanol, 161 thousand tons of DDGS, 10 thousand tons of oils, and 51 GWh. Ethanol made from corn and cereals makes up more than 20% of the national production of biofuel, making it an essential source in Brazil’s energy transition. The National Union of Corn Ethanol (UNEM) believes that with each new operational start-up of these units, Brazil is committing to producing bioenergy from renewable matrices with minimal greenhouse gas emissions.
