NEW GRAIN ETHANOL PLANT IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL EXPECTED TO START OPERATING IN 2024

The plant that will be built in Passo Fundo (RS) and produce ethanol and bran from the processing of cereals such as corn, wheat, triticale, rice, and sorghum, is expected to start operating in the second half of 2024. The Be8 company, formerly known as BSBios, will invest BRL 556 million in the project. At its peak, the plant will handle 1,500 tons of cereal daily. According to Be8 President Erasmo Carlos Battistella, it will have a capacity of 220 million liters of ethanol and be able to produce anhydrous or hydrous ethanol. Battistella also added that the strategy calls for marketing bran made with ethanol.
