MS EXPORTS REACH $2.5BN IN Q1

Mato Grosso do Sul posted $2.51 billion in exports in Q1 2026 (-1.66% y/y), as shipment volumes rose 11.83% to 6.82 million tons. Imports increased 10.1% to $751.6 million, narrowing the trade surplus to $1.76 billion (-5.93%). Agribusiness remains the backbone, led by soybeans (28.3%), pulp (27.4%) and beef (19.4%). China accounted for 44.8% of exports, followed by the US and Europe. Outflows are concentrated via Paranaguá (40.8%), Santos (38.3%) and São Francisco do Sul (9.4%). Lower commodity prices, amid ample global supply and geopolitical uncertainty, capped export revenues despite stronger volumes.
