MINISTER INAUGURATES 3 WORKS AT THE PORT OF SANTOS WORTH R$ 600 MILLION

Minister of Infrastructure Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas inaugurated three important works in the Port of Santos on November 28th valued at R$ 601 million in investments. The contributions involved the construction of a third railway line between the districts of Valongo and Paquetá, by Portofer; a berthing pier for liquid bulk ships on Barnabé Island, by Ageo Norte; and works to expand and modernize Tecon, by Santos Brasil. Concluding the agenda, the minister followed the first shipment of pulp through the Bracell terminal, auctioned in August 2020. Built by Rumo (a Portofer shareholder) from January to August this year, the work involved resources in the amount of R$23 million. The works at Tecon adds another 400,000 TEU/year to the terminal’s capacity, raising it to 2.4 million TEU/year. The construction of the new pier on Ilha Barnabé adds another mooring berth for liquid bulk at the Port of Santos. It has a depth of 15 meters and a capacity of 80,000 DWT.
