MINAS GERAIS: AGRICULTURE SHIPPED 13.2 MILLION TONS FROM JANUARY TO OCTOBER

Agribusiness in the state of Minas Gerais saw a 10.6% increase in export volume, reaching a total of 13.2 million tons between January and October. With a 15% increase in income and volume, reaching USD 871 million and 1.3 million tons, the forest products industry topped overseas sales. China was the largest importer, accounting for 49% of exports, followed by the Netherlands, Japan, and the United States. Despite a reduction in overall export value of 8.5% to USD 11.9 billion, Minas Gerais agribusiness maintained a USD 10.8 billion surplus. Coffee, soybean complex, sugar-alcohol complex, and meat all had a role in the beneficial outcomes.
